A thermostat is the brain of the heating system. It allows you to control the temperature. Thermostats work together with air and floor sensors to detect the temperature.
There are simpler and more advanced thermostats. Almost every thermostat offers a 24-hour timer cycle feature.
The more advanced thermostats include zone control, smartphone app, and wi-fi connection features.
2. How does a Heating Thermostat work?
There are two types of heating thermostats based on technology – electronic and electromechanical.
Electronic thermostats are newer and work like a small computer. They have sensors that check if your home is at the right temperature. Some of them have features like programmable settings and wi-fi.
Electromechanical systems work with either a bi-metal coil or a metal strip.
When the temperature falls or rises, the metal will move. It sends a signal that the heating should be turned off or on.
